Connor starts Preschool

Connor on his first day
Well, January finally came it was time for Connor to leave Gammie's house and start daycare/preschool.  Connor (and Emma) are only able to stay at Gammie's house (my mom for those who don't already know) till they are about 2 and then they have to go to another location that has other children and things for them to learn.  My mom has been so important in my kids lives in helping Jonathan and I raise them while we are away at work and it was really hard to find somewhere to take Connor that was going to do right by him, not cost us an arm and a leg, and teach him what he needed to learn.

I started researching preschools for him about August of last year and I was having a terrible time.  I didn't want to do it, I was 8 months pregnant and was just dreading it.  Thankfully, my good friend Lisa had to put her daughter in daycare and looked around at a few places and her favorite was a place called Explorers In Learning.  We decided to check it out once Emma was born.

This place is great.  It is just 1 location and they fit our price range, what we wanted for Connor and are open just when we need them.

Connor is in a 2 year old class with about 4 or 5 other littles his age.  He comes home everyday with a report card, telling us what he did, what he ate and wonderful pictures he does.  He is learning so much!  He has learned about winter and colors, next week is dinosaurs!!  He gets to do cool things each week like wear a certain color, or bring in a favorite toy. Next week he gets to bring in an dinosaur book, and thankfully we have one!! (Thanks Rachael!!)

He gets to play everyday outside and inside and his teacher says he is always happy and always says "please" and "thank you" for everything (makes Mommy and Daddy very happy!) And of course though he is picking up bad habits from other kids and their germs. . .but that is to be expected.

New toys!
I know my mom wishes she could keep them forever and we wish she could too, but he loves his new school and is doing so well there and it was time for him to start learning and playing with other children and getting him prepared for Kindergarden in few years.

Thanks to my mom for all you have done for Connor in watching him for the past 2 years while we worked.  Its never easy to have to leave your child with someone while you work, but I never worried about him while I was working for I know he was in a good hands and was being well cared for.

****a picture of Mom and Connor will go here, mom always hides from the  camera! Ha ha!****

I also want to thank my mother in law Gina for all she has done for Connor.  Everytime the doorbell rings, regardless of who it is, he always runs to the door calling out "Babcia!! Babcia!"  Gina is always coming over making sure he is eating right (us too with her wonderful Polish food) and never hesitates to watch him for us for a few hours while Mommy and Daddy have a night out.  We always know we can count on her when we need you.

Every Wednesday Connor also goes and visits his Dziadek Andrew, Jola and his cousins Sheala and Caden which has been so wonderful!  I swear Connor knows when it is Wednesday because when we pick him up he always says "Time to go to Dziadek's house!!"  He has such a great time there, playing, learning, singing with his cousins.  His favorite was playing in the water over the summer with Andrew.  Connor would be out there for hours playing in the water with Andrew.  He loves him so much!
