The dog run

For those of you who know, this backyard has been a thorn in our side since we moved here. We when moved into this house, it had a beautiful backyard, then Korbin and Leelu came along. We let them roam free and that proved to not be the best thing. They first destroyed everything in site. We have since replaced all the plants and the bush is slowly coming back to normal but is still recovering. We decided to cut them off from the back yard and create a "run" for them by the patio. First we left the rocks in. Well Korbin thought it would be ok to eat rocks at this point, which of course we know is not good for puppies. We then took out all the rock, put down some chicken wire and cedar. That worked of course until it rained. That cedar all though smelled good, turned the whole backyard into a giant toilet bowl and after it rained it was a muddy and pee smelling mess. So we took out the cedar and then put down actual real grass. Well then of course the dogs though it would be ok to dig, and being that there is no sprinkler system back there, the grass eventually died, it happened after Jon stopped taken care of it and Courtney out of protest, refused to water it. So that dead grass became a dirt hole which became the thorn in the side of the Kolson household.
So one day when Courtney was cleaning the house, she had had enough. The dogs had been digging that dirt pit of hell and dragging it into the house, causing dust to fly and stick to everything after she had just cleaned. She told Jon to find the grass, within our budget and to get it asap. Because mind you that this dirt hole, when it rained, because a mud hole and pit of dis pare! Causing the us to have to let the dogs outside to do their business. So, we ordered the "fake" grass, few weeks later and a near death experience from Jon in the Arizona heat, Jake and Jon got the grass down. Doesn't it look so great! Wife is happy again :) Dogs are now less messy and house is a little bit cleaner :)
