Monsoon season is officially here!

Ugh this tree
Ok so its no secret that I have never been a fan of this tree that is front of my house.  Yes it is very big and provides alot of shade but it is messy, drops pods, very teeny tiny leaves, needles and teeny tiny branches.  Well last night it dropped a LARGE branch, on Jonathan's truck.

We live in what I like to call "The Vortex." Because very rarely does anything every happen in the Vortex.  All around the valley the storms hit and by the time the get to us, they are done.  Well we had a storm on Saturday night that wasn't too bad, had some good rain and thunder. Last night though was another story.
Looks worse than it is
The storm hit around 10 last night (22:00) and it was coming down pretty hard. Alot of wind, rain, thunder and lighting.  There was one point were it was pounding pretty hard that I actually looked out side to see what was going on.  Only in the back though, not the front.  So when I get up this morning I'm getting read to leave for work and as I'm opening up the blinds, I see this branch in front of my window.  Pretty sure that branch was higher up last time I checked.  I quickly ran to the garage to try and open it. . .nothing.  This tree fell on top of Jon's car and was COMPLETELY blocking the garage door. Jon and I are now both trapped.
Split, right down the middle
Guess I'm not goin anywhere today
I called my office in a panic for I seriously had no idea what I was going to do. After I got myself calmed down, I worked for a few hours and then I went out to help Jon and Chris with this mess.  Let me just say that the 50% humidity did not help either.  We had someone do an estimate on how much it would cost him to haul it outta there and it was WAY more than we could afford, so it was the team of Kolson Cubed that took care of this one.  Jon and Chris of course did the hard work but I was out there doing the little stuff.  This was TERRIBLE! Ugh! Would have MUCH rather been at work than dealing with this garbage.
At least the truck is out.
We managed to get the truck out. Thankfully it just had some scratches and a cracked windshield but the rest was ok.  Jon made one trip to the dump to get rid of this stuff and this is what is left.  I'm sure the HOA will send us a lovely note that we've got garbage in our front yard and then I will tell them where to stick it.  This will take a few days with Jon and I work and the dump is not very close.  It blew our lawn chairs to the other side of the yard and I'm pretty sure all the fruit on the trees is now gone.  But Jon, Connor and I are all safe and sound, we have cleared a path for me to get out to go to work tomorrow.  Now we just have to worry about the other side of the tree now, for it is SERIOUSLY unbalanced.  When are we moving again?
