| Kolson's at Spring Training |
The day finally arrived! Baseball season has BEGUN! We have been looking forward to this day since Connor was born! Not only was this Connor's very FIRST baseball game, but it was his first Spring Training Game, and it was for the Dbacks at their new stadium in Scottsdale aka Salt River Fields - Talking Stick. It was a little cooler than I would have liked, but the weather held out for us and we were able to enjoy a great day at the park.

Connor did so well for his first game. He was all decked out in his First Dbacks hat and t-shirt, had a matching bib and dbacks socks. I was so excited to get him dressed this morning you would have thought it was Christmas.

We had to get there pretty early. This game was sold out being that it was the very first game in a brand new stadium and the Dbacks were finally up in Scottsdale with all the other spring training teams (I think we may have 12 teams here now?) We sat on the lawn so that we could stretch out and have the stroller there with Connor. He was asleep for about the first hour after we fed him but he was pretty much up for the rest of the game.

Gammie came with us to the game which was awesome, because I always enjoy going to the games with my mom. My Uncle Barney and Aunt Pat were also there too, we were sitting in the grass and they were in some seats on the other side of the field. Connor got to meet Baxter the Dbacks mascot and he also got a ceramic ticket showing that he was at this very first game! How cool is that! It will hang on his wall for sure!

I can't wait to take Connor to more baseball games. We all had such a great time. We left in the middle of the 7th inning being that it was starting to look nasty outside and we were losing 7-1 to Colorado. But right after we left they turned around and tied it up 7-7! Just goes to show you all my years of "Never Leaving Early" is a cardnial rule I should always stick with! But its harder now when there is a munchkin now. They ended up going 10 innings, but the Dbacks eventually fell to the Rockies, 7-8.
What a great stadium too! We hope to go back one day and just walk around during practice, it is so big and there are alot of things to see. In fact. . .mom and I saw the big man himself! Luis Gonzales! I was within hugging distance of him and I walked right past him and had to do a double take! Then mom and I about lost ourselves. We weren't able to get a picture with him but we were just inches away from the great Gonzo, savior of the 2001 World Series :)

There will be many more spring training events to come. March is such a great month for spring training! We love seeing the Dbacks but are partial to the Padres as well since that is who we always saw before the Dbacks left Tucson (ugh Tucson). Here is to a better year for the Dbacks!!
