| Connor @ 11 weeks |
We started off at Dad and Laura's house which was really great to actually be able to go, and sit and eat. Connor was really good and pretty much slept the who time. After that we made a quick stop over to see great grandpa Henryk who has never met his great grand child Connor before. He was so excited to see him and just kept telling him what a beautiful boy he was, in Polish. Connor gave him big smiles and I'm sure that he was really happy to see him. We also made a quick stop over to Andrew's so that everyone could see and meet little Connor. Andrew is always so excited to see Connor. He took him right away and fed him as we visited. Connor always loves to see his grandpa. Then we headed out to dinner with Babcia which was nice because we went out to dinner. I have never gone out to dinner before on Thanksgiving and I must say that when you have so many places to go, its a nice change of pace. Next year though since Connor won't be so 'new" anymore it will be back to only 2 families for the Thanksgiving. Its just too crazy to do 4 in one day, no one gets time to chat or see anyone, and we always feel like we are rushing out the door.
Today we were to go up to Payson to have Thanksgiving with the Van Horns, which was nice since it was on a Friday we didn't have to rush. We were to head up around 11, spend the night and then head down the hill on Saturday. But as fate would have it, their house caught on fire (everyone is fine and there is not too much damage) so it was touch and go there for a while as to if we would even go up there, but we all made the trip up to Payson and had a wonderful Thanksgiving as we always do with them. Even though it was a bit cold, there was a bit of damage to the home and some smoke in the house, it didn't matter to any of us because we were all safe, all happy and all Thankful. We'll head back up the hill when Uncle Barney and Aunt Pat get the house fixed and stay the night so that Connor can see his first snow!!
We still have a few more Thanksgivinges to hit. Tomorrow we head over to the Mihaljevich house for left overs and then Sunday its the 4th Annual Mother-Daughter brunch. What a busy 4 day weekend, I'll need a day just to recover from it!
This year was such a great year to be Thankful. I have a wonderful family who is all healthy and happy. Great friends that make me laugh, a job that lets me work from home so I can be closer to my munchkin, a husband who is not only my best friend, but my soul mate and father to my precious little boy who came screaming into this world 11 weeks ago. Its amazing that this time last year, my heart was so heavy for I so wanted to have a child of my own, and I wasn't sure that was going to happen. But here I sit, tired with formula spit up all over my clothes knowing, that my little man is fast asleep in his warm bed and truly happy, all in which, I am truly thankful for :)
Thanksgiving, Van Horn style!
