Can you believe our little monster is already a month old!! Its hard to believe that he has been here for a month! We can't imagine nor even remember what it was life without him here. He has come so far so fast and before we know it our little man won't be so little anymore.
As many of you know, life with a newborn can be challenging and fustrating, but in the end its all worth it. We have sleepless nights, endless crying fests (Connor has developed an alert ego, known as Sgt. Meltdown) getting pooped on, peed on, barfed on and whatever else you can think of but at the end of the day I can't help but smile at our precious little boy.
Connor is doing great! At his one month appointment he weighed in at 8lbs 11oz and was 22 1/2 inches long. He is in the 23 % and the doctor thinks he looks great! We do believe he has a touch of colic but thankfully that only seems to come up every few days and mostly those melt downs comes between 6am and noon. He is sleeping most of his time, and at night he can sleep about 4 hours before he needs to be fed. We have him up to about 4oz now on some really expensive formula for his colic and gas. We pretty much have it under control and are so thankful that colic only lasts a few months so the cry fests will stop as will the expensive formula. He has started to find his voice and its funny to hear him grunt and coo while he is in his bouncer or bassinet. He is such a joy to have!!!
Jon has gone back to work and is working from home which is great. He'll be home for 2 more weeks. I'm still on leave and will be returning to work around mid-November, just in time for the next employee to go on materinty leave. I'll be working the first 2 weeks in the office and then after Thanksgiving I will be part time at home and part time in the office. We have ventured out a few times, having dinner with family and friends, and we have had alot of visitors. Tomorrow (10-10) will be my first day out of the house without Connor when I head out to a bridal shower. I think I will enjoy some girl time. I have recovered GREAT from his birth, I was pretty much back to normal about 10 days after he was born and am already back into my pre-maternity clothes. I look at some of the clothes I wore before he was born and I can't believe some of that stuff was too big!!
Well, there will be more to come as Connor grows!! Stay tuned!!
Love, Cort, Connor & Jon
